Oakhurst, California

Yosemite, our location at the southern end of fabled Highway 49, the Gold Rush route, Bass Lake and North Fork’s Scenic By-Way draws over 1-1/2 million tourists into Eastern Madera County each year. Our economy is increasingly diversified; the Chamber of Commerce membership has grown considerably in the last three years. Major computer software firms are located here plus Federal, State and County government employment is strong and retail businesses flourish with a second major shopping center just completed and a third one soon to begin.

Yet, we remain an affordable community, for employers and employees. Eastern Madera County is a progressive community in the best sense of the word. It’s business sector works closely with local citizen groups to protect the quality of life while nourishing the area’s economic health. An example of this is the Oakhurst River Parkway Project along the Fresno River, Oak Creek and China Creek. A 4-mile walking trail amid the natural beauty. The Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce serves businesses and the communities in Eastern Madera County. We are conveniently located on Highway 41in Oakhurst. We are in the culturally rich Southern Sierras just moments from the south gate to Yosemite national forest. If you are interested in relocating your family or business to an affordable, safe, clean, and caring community.

North Fork, California

Located "in the middle of it all," North Fork is the exact geographic center of California. More than being the center of the great state, it's a beautiful community rich in history and tribal culture. Explore the Sierra Mono Indian Museum and Cultural Center, one of the few Native American owned and operated museums in the country. The town's logging heritage is always present (make sure to stop by the Old Mill Site with it's new interpretive signage), but it really comes alive at the annual Logger's Jamboree. North Fork is also the main starting point for the Sierra Vista Scenic Byway, a nearly 100 mile journey through the heart of the Sierra Nevada. In O'Neals you'll find a winery along the Madera Wine Trail as well as lots of farm lands.

Bass Lake, California

Emerald green waters, majestic pines and mother nature...come see the beauty that is Bass Lake.

Bass Lake is located 1 hour north of Fresno and just 17 miles from the Southern Gate to Yosemite National Park!

Bass Lake is considered a "warm water" lake with water temperatures reaching near 80 degrees during the summer months which make it ideal for swimming, boating and fishing.

Bass Lake is owned and operated by Pacific Gas and Electric Company and the waters of the lake are used to generate electricity, irrigate farmland in the Central Valley and for numerous recreational activities.
